The world of technology is shaking this week. Sonos is apparently preparing to announce a cheap soundbar and launch its first -ever voice assistant. Apple has finally started selling refurbished models of the Apple Watch Series 7 – and they start at $ 339. Ultimate Ears has released a “hot pink” colorway on its UE Fits wireless earbuds. And a bunch of other cool gadgets have also been announced.
Here’s what you need to know.
Marshall Willen and Emberton II
Marshall announced two new portable and rugged Bluetooth speakers this week. Willen ($ 120) is a new speaker for the company – and it’s the smallest. It’s about the same size as your smartphone (albeit a little thicker) and has a strap so you can attach it to things, like the handlebars on your bike or a backpack strap. The Emberton II ($ 170) is a slightly larger second-generation speaker that maximizes improved battery life and app support that adjusts EQ and software updates. Both speakers have Marshall’s signature rock n ’roll aesthetic.

Pro-Ject E1 Turntable
The Austrian hi-fi maker has introduced a new entry-level turntables, named E1, that remain true to the company’s ethos of using high-quality components. Each model has a true sub-platter design, a solid MDF plinth and comes with an Ortofon OM5e cartridge (which costs about $ 70 on its own). The Pro-Ject will offer the E1 turntable in three different configurations: a bare bone (E1, $ 349), one with a built-in phono preamp (E1 Phono SB, $ 399) and one with Bluetooth audio transmitter (E1 BT, $ 499).

Anker 633 Magnetic Battery
It’s a 10,000-mAh portable battery that magnetically clicks into the back of your iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 and wirelessly charges it. (For reference, Apple’s MagSafe Battery Pack has a capacity of only 1,460-mAh.) It also has a built-in kickstand and USB-C and USB-ports for charging additional devices. It is important to remember that the Anker 633 Magnetic Battery not fully supports MagSafe-it won’t quickly charge your new iPhone at 15 watts, but higher than 7.5 watts when charging wirelessly.
Price: $ 80
Apple Thunderbolt 4 Pro Cable (3 m)
Apple has finally started selling its extra-long Thunderbolt 4 cable. It’s coiled (which kind of prevents it from coiling) and measures three meters in length, making it one of the only Thunderbolt 4 cables that length you can buy. It’s the perfect companion for Apple’s Studio Display and Mac Studio, albeit a very expensive companion.
Price: $ 159
Wyze Room Sensor
It’s another week and Wyze has launched another smart home gadget to expand the growing ecosystem – this time it’s a bedroom sensor. It works in conjunction with Wyze’s smart thermostat (released in late 2020) to help better control the temperature of specific rooms in your home. This can only be used with the Wyze Smart Home Thermostat.
Price: $ 25
Optoma’s latest 4k projector is relatively inexpensive despite offering nice specs. It is rated at 3,600 lumens and will project a photograph up to 300 inches (large). It can deliver a 4K image at 60Hz or a 1080p image at 240Hz refresh rate, the latter more than enough to handle the speed of next-generation consoles like the Xbox Series X or PS5.
Price: $ 1,800
