Not everyone wants a smartwatch and some people prefer the contemporary look. But they are missing out on the latest technology and the convenience it brings. Not including health functions. Sure there are hybrid watches and this is the next best thing. But often, they don’t look perfectly like a traditional watch and combine the visible elements of both.
The Danish -made NORM 1 is a beautiful, minimalistic smartwatch that is unique. It’s a device designed to appeal not only to sports and tech enthusiasts – a smartwatch for everyone.
NORM 1 looks and feels like a traditional timepiece. There is no difference at all. It acts like a smartwatch only when activated, or a call or notification arrives. At that point the invisible OLED comes to life revealing the technology behind the classic surface. A vibration can also be activated to get your attention.
And this is the main difference between NORM 1 and other hybrid timepieces. The latter usually has a smart display visible at all times. The NORM 1 watch is not. Most of the time, it will perfectly look like the classic thing.
The device gives you complete control. The smartphone app allows you to know what notifications and messages are allowed to arrive on the watch. This includes text and social media alerts (WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram and more).
Unlike most outdoor smartwatches, this one allows you to read the entire message on the OLED display. It will be displayed as scrolling text. Which means the smartphone doesn’t have to be reached. If you want to not be bothered, you can turn off all smart functions and the timepiece will act like a traditional watch.
The timepiece combines functionality in an elegant, unisex design. Its 3 ATM-rated body is made of 316L stainless steel with Sapphire Glass protection. The custom designed strap uses a combination of fabric and rubber material. This means there is no need to change the band because the rubber protects from water and dust.
For this purpose, the device also acts as a basic activity and health monitor. It monitors heart rate around the clock, steps and estimates calories expended. At night it tracks sleep for a better understanding of your body. There is also a companion smartphone app where you can check statistics in detail and customize the OLED display and other functions of the watch.
