Sean “Diddy” Combs takes hosting duties from Kelly Clarkson for 2022 Billboard Music Awards. The rapper, producer, actor and mogul are just about to present at the 2022 Oscars after “The Slap” —so you know he’s ready for anything that might throw at him tonight.
The awards ceremony makes a winning return to Las Vegas for 2022 after being held in Los Angeles the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
BBMAs honor the music industry’s biggest sellers, with categories ranging from top tours in every genre to best -selling artists and albums, including streaming. Among this year’s nominees Taylor Swift, Doja Cat, Bruno Mars, Adele, Walker Hayes, Chris Stapleton, Drake, Justin Bieber, The Week, Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Machine Gun Kelly, Miranda Lambert, Lady Gaga, BTS, Carrie Underwood, Harry’s Styles, Ed Sheeran etc., in addition to the ICON Award honoree Mary J. Blige.

DJ Khaled, Chloe Bailey, Law and Order star Anthony Anderson, Michael Buble and Heidi Klum are among the presenters for the 2022 BBMAs.
Performers include Sheeran, Lambert (with Elle King), Florence + the Machine, Raw Alexander, Burna Boy, Lac, Dan + Shay, Megan Thee Stallion and the Red Hot Chili Peppersto name a few.
The 2022 BBMAs will also mark the return of performances for the two artists plagued by controversy: Travis Scott will take the stage for his first television appearance since the horrific death and injury that occurred at his Astroworld Festival last year, while Morgan Wallen (who is also up for some awards) will perform at BBMAs for the first time since a video of her shouting the N-word emerged.

“So one of the things I directly do is ‘cancel’ the canceled. That’s the changing news because people have nothing to do with canceling. But cancellation is a trend that needs to be stopped,” he said. ”He said.“ Travis went through a tragedy; Morgan [used the N-word] while talking to his son. People are wrong. Today we proceed with love and respect to all who are hurt or affected. It’s time to forgive … So that Morgan and Travis can get back together and touch the stage again with the thought of getting a second chance at life. Everyone in the room got a second chance at life, you know, because we went back inside without a mask. We need love and I look forward to celebrating that. ”
BBMAs will broadcast live on Sunday, May 15 at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on NBC.
