Buffalo Bills ‘near lock’ to have top defense in 2022

CBS Sports has some unique analysis of the Buffalo Bills and their violation.

In putting every NFL offense into tiers, the outlet calls the Bills a “second tier” team.

When the same exercise was done for the defensive side of the ball, Buffalo got their right fit.

In the top spot of “most likely” one of the best defenses in the league, the Bills found themselves there.

Here is the breakdown:

Buffalo finished first last season with DVOA, EPA per game, yards per game, and points per drive, then added Von Miller to a deep group of side rushers. Despite Tre’Davious White likely missing part of the season rehabbing his torn ACL, the Bills serve as a close lock to having a long defense.

While CBS Sports may have overthought in their analysis of the Bills and their violations, nothing such a thing has been done on defense. Exactly right.

Buffalo finished well in almost every defensive category last season and then added Von Miller’s upcoming Hall of Famer. It also happens that he is playing their “weak” spot on that side of the ball as well.

Pretty easy choice.

In the end, only three teams landed in this “most likely” category. There, Buffalo was joined by the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints.
