Clovis candy store Abigail’s Candy Shop celebrating 15 years in business

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) – For candyman Scott Smith and his wife Laura, life is so beautiful.

“There aren’t very many jobs where people come in, they’re happy, they leave, they’re happy. So as a candyman, it’s the best,” Scott said.

“We go to work every day, we love our work. We love our customers, we have a lot of regulars,” Laura said.

For 15 years, the couple behind Abigail’s Candy shop have poured their heart and soul into satisfying every sweet tooth in the Valley, creating memories that will last for generations.

Whether you’re a fan of chewy taffy or jawbreaker, Abigail’s Candy Shop has a little something for everyone.

And there is no age limit to feeling like a child in a candy store.

The retro section has kids of all ages coming back and influencers bringing new customers to the store.

“We have a lot of TikTok candies that kids like-they like slime, fruit jelly, wax bottles, they’re called Nik-L-Nips,” Smith said.

Originally a Powell’s candy franchise, when the company lost business five years ago, the couple named the store after their daughter.

But Abigail’s serves more than candy. You can find old toys all over the store and the center stage is the gelato.

Foods are from the locals, including macarons from Parisien French Bakery in Old Town Clovis, Debbas Chocolate, Lola’s Butter Bunches popcorn and Dad’s Cookies.

But that’s not the only way they support the local community. There are school and non-profit collection opportunities.

You can travel the memory lane, host a birthday party scavenger hunt, grab a special basket occasion or satisfy the craving 7 days a week at Sierra Vista Mall.
