OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Health Department continues to hold immunization clinics every Tuesday and the second Wednesday of each month.
Vaccination clinics will be held every Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 to 3:30 at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic in Oswego. Clinics will be held at the same location on the second Wednesday of each month, from 9 to 11 am and 1 to 3 pm, beginning May 11.
Tuesday’s clinics, which by appointment only, offer general childhood and adult vaccinations, including COVID-19-qualified vaccines. Wednesday’s clinics are dedicated to COVID-19 vaccines for qualified individuals.
COVID-19 vaccines are also available at medical provider offices and local pharmacies. Anyone looking for general vaccination information, or a COVID-19 vaccine, can contact the Oswego County Health Department at 315-349-3547.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and New York State Department of Health (DOH) recommend individuals stay updated on COVID-19 vaccines, which now include a second booster doses for some individuals. .
Second booster doses of Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines have already been approved for individuals 50 years of age and older and individuals 12 years of age and older with certain immunocompromised conditions. . Anyone who receives their second booster dose must have at least four months removed from their first booster shot.
Anyone age 18 or older who received the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine as a primary shot and booster dose may also receive a second dose of the booster with Pfizer vaccines. -BioNTech or Moderna, regardless of health status, four months after they are given the first booster dose.

Attendees age 5 and older will receive age-appropriate recommended doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, and anyone age 18 and older will receive a recommended dose of Moderna or Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
Appointments are preferred at all county clinics, but walk-ins will be accepted on Wednesdays.
Anyone who needs help making an appointment can contact the county’s COVID-19 Hotline Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4 pm at 315-349-3330. Seniors ages 60 and older who need help making an appointment can also contact the Office for Aging at 315-349-3484.
At-home COVID-19 test kits will be provided to vaccinated individuals at future clinics while supplies are available.
Face masks are required in all health care settings regulated by the state Department of Health, including the Oswego County Department of Health and any vaccination site.
