Designer Geraldine Guyot Shares Her Travel Style

This week, let’s follow Geraldine Guyotco-founder of D’Estree, as she jet-set around the world for months of fashion and personal businesses. In doing so, he relied on specific objects and silhouettes: structured, vintage-inspired (or actually vintage) pieces and statement accessories — some of which he himself designed.

“I wore a head to toe Dior on my way to the opening of a new Dior store in Paris. The skirt from last season’s couture show, which I paired with one of my favorite thing: the bar jacket.My black Gunther bag is finished with the look.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the relentless effectiveness of accessories. No matter what dress you wear, accessories will always give it this character. I’m going out for dinner at St. Barts, wore a vintage dress from the ’80s with my Albert bag to add a bold touch of orange.

What is the role of fashion in your life? How does it serve you?
“I think the best way to approach fashion is to not take it seriously. Don’t follow trends. Don’t try too hard. Just wear what you love and be your true self. I personally love to graphics and structured pieces — the ones that retain a sculptural, almost totemic elegance.I love to find timeless and unique pieces, so I’m always looking for a unique vintage couture.
What does your style look like these days? Do you have a go-to outfit formula or do you prefer to change it when dressing?
“A staple in my days is Yoshitomo & Amoako suits (in different colors depending on my mood). They’re the ones I’ve been going to for the past few weeks as I travel for fashion month. I love the straight, flared cut of the pants and I love that I can do a full look with a matching jacket or wear it for a effortless look.
How much energy do you bring to your ensembles these days? What do you expect to wear?
“Nowadays, I bring a much more fun energy to my look depending on where I take the day. As I travel back and forth from Paris to New York, I need to be comfortable but chic at the same time. . ”
In terms of beauty, what does your usual hair care and makeup look like and how does that change based on what you wear?
“Because my days are full of meetings and events, my morning routine is usually quick and efficient. I use the Caudalie line — I love it. I love their cleanser and serums. As for makeup, no. I wear very well.I make sure I have a very good skin care routine, so I don’t have to use foundation.It depends on how late I am and who I meet, every now and then then I apply lipstick or mascara.As for my hair, I use Klorane forever.
