Fujifilm develop AI technology that can predict the progression of Alzheimer’s

Fujifilm and the National Center of Neurology and Psychiatry (NCNP) recently released new research showing that AI technology can help predict whether a person is likely to have Alzheimer’s disease or not. By monitoring brain activity, Fujifilm and NCNP say they will be able to predict whether a patient with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) will progress to dementia within two years with an accurate up to 88%.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia and an estimated 55 million people worldwide have a neurological condition that causes memory loss. As the population ages, it is expected that by 2050, more than 139 million people will suffer from the life-changing condition.
