Things to know about using Google Maps on the Apple Watch
You should know that you cannot enter a new location on the Apple Watch directly. You have to use your iPhone to do that. Once you’ve done that, you can follow the directions on the Apple Watch. There’s no map visible on the Apple Watch screen, however, you’ll see distances, turn-by-turn instructions, driving times and a turn-direction arrow. This is all done through haptic feedback.
There is a Google Maps app for the Watch where you can access directions to stored locations. You can use these shortcuts if you don’t want to use your iPhone to find directions to saved places. It will definitely work if you are walking and not driving.
To use Google Maps on your Apple Watch, make sure your devices have:
