BMW has released some more details about the new BMW XM, the car is now being tested and it has a hybrid driving system.

The new BMW XM is a prototype at the moment, the car is portrayed in full camouflage so we haven’t seen the entire design of the car yet.


Its expressive design remains hidden under camouflage foil, its athletic proportions are already known, and the extreme performance characteristics of the new BMW XM make every test drive an experience even for of skilled professionals. Within the framework of the driving dynamics test, BMW M GmbH’s first high-performance car with electrified drive now completes the final phase of the series development process. Just a few months after the presentation of the BMW Concept XM, the prototypes of the production model demonstrated a high level of maturity in their driving technology and suspension in an intensive testing program. The BMW XM is ready to redefine high performance, luxury and sovereignty.

Compliance with all-electric Performance models BMW i4 M50 (combined power consumption: 22.5-18.0 kWh/100 km according to WLTP, CO2 emission: 0 g/km; data according to NEDC: -) and BMW iX M60 (combined power consumption: 24.5 –21.9 kWh/100 km according to WLTP, CO2 emission: 0 g/km; data according to NEDC:-), the BMW XM presents another feature of e-mobility within the high-performance part of the car with the first M hybrid drive system. A newly developed V8 petrol engine combined with an electric drive powers a system output of 480 KW/650 hp. The combined torque is 800 Nm. With all-time sovereignty, power is effectively transferred to the road via the first hybrid-specific M xDrive four-wheel drive system, which is extremely powerful.
