Song Kang forecasts fashion trends

Like his character Lee Si Woo who can predict the weather, Song Kang knows what rains are and what shines in the fashion world.

The 28-year-old South Korean actor captured the spotlight and heart as Lee Si Woo in his latest K Drama hit Forecasting Love & Weather, taking on the role of a weather forecasting genius who dares to storm storms in seemingly complex love story.

Fans said goodbye to the beloved character in the finale of the series that premiered in April, but he has yet to finish channeling Lee Si Woo.

In an exclusive interview with Penshoppe, Song Kang shared his prediction for the future of everyday fashion, and his predictions may not be too far off the mark.

What’s your trend right now, and what are some of your favorite fashion trends?

“My current trend is casual. I like to wear comfortable clothes for personal time outside of my schedule, so a lot of the things in my closet are pretty casual. The trending items [catch] My focus these days includes long pants and cropped jackets. ”

As a fashion enthusiast yourself, you see trends come and go, but what do you think is the trend that is here to stay?

“I think [it would be] athletic clothing. There are many people who exercise these days as part of their self-care routine. Functionality is the most important element of athlete’s clothing and compared to the past, there are many clothes with different designs that can be worn in everyday life. There may be changes in design and style, but since it’s a trend that is closely linked to people’s lifestyles, I feel like the fashion itself is here to stay.

What pieces of fashion do you think are always in style?

“I think things like jeans, shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts are always in demand no matter how long the weather is. Such basic things are the clothes we own as necessities for generations. They are simple and good at anything, making them versatile. ”

What do you think casual everyday wear will look like 10 years from now?

“It is difficult to [guess] because fashion trends are changing so fast, but I don’t think it’s very different from what it is today. They say fashion trends come and go. Just as things from 10 years ago became fashionable again in a retro feel, just as the things we wear today became fashionable again ten years ago.
