Technology Takes Centre Stage In Nursing, Transforming Care | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: With changing times, especially since the onset of the pandemic, the nursing profession has undergone many changes.
While there is a problem of exodus from the profession and large tasks on the one hand, on the other hand the use of nursing technology has become central on the stage.
From monitoring patients ’video remotely to recording audios and interpreting them using tools to understand a patient’s needs (especially if the patient is from another country or state), the nurses use as many tools as possible.
The use of technology in the field began during the pandemic, driven by the need to cut the physical interface as much as possible and continue the millennial approach to working and accessing services.
“Unlike before, we are now increasingly working with millennials. There are many gaps in the way they approach treatment and technology is being taken from the patient and health care professionals. With the addition of telemedicine, industrial nursing and medical tourism, the nursing profession has seen many changes and needs to better adapt aspects of technology, ”said Saino Thomas, chief nursing officer of the group, American Oncology Institute.
This is likely to develop further in the future especially in telemedicine and remote medicine retrieval, as part of the profession. “Many technological transitions have continued even to this day and are likely to continue. A major part of care will remain the active participation of physical setup frontline healthcare workers. However, the relocation of frontline healthcare workers. patient assessment, data entry and transfer of patients have already become online processes, ”said Swapna Ramaswamy Kankam, nursing teacher at the Fernandez Foundation.
Nursing professionals, however, are calling for an upgrade of the care infrastructure to keep up with the growing demand for nursing professionals.
