Forget breaking the sound barrier: Tom Cruise just flew a major career milestone.

The 59-year-old superstar got her first $ 100 million opening weekend on “Top Gun: Maverick.” In its first three days in North American theaters, the long-in-the-works sequel garnered an estimated $ 124 million in ticket sales, Paramount Pictures said Sunday. Including international performances, the total was $ 248 million.

It was a supersonic start for a film with plenty of open skies on Memorial Day itself to raise even more money. According to estimates and estimates, by the end of Monday, “Top Gun: Maverick” will likely have more than $ 150 million.
