The payments to Hervé Pierre Braillard offer a window into the many ways Trump, who is not a candidate for office, is allowed to use his PAC money.

  • Save America paid Hervé Pierre Braillard $60,000, according to FEC records.
  • Experts say the payments are allowed through a loophole the FEC won’t close.
  • The committee on Jan. 6 investigated the use of Save America to push debunked claims of voter fraud.

The fund associated with former President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election paid $60,000 to a fashion designer known for styling Melania Trump’s wardrobe when the couple was in the White House.

The Save America political action committee distributed the money to Hervé Pierre Braillard in four payments starting April 7 and ending June 24, according to records filed with the Federal Elections Commission. The committee reported that these payments were for “strategy consulting.” It’s not clear what the money specifically pays for.
