Unique fashion show to raise funds for Partners for World Health

The curtain is about to go up on the Blue Wrap Project Runway.

PORTLAND, Maine – There is no other nonprofit in New England like Partners for World Health, and no other event like its Blue Wrap Project Runway.

PWH collects unused medical supplies from hospitals, manufacturers, and a variety of organizations and individuals and then ships them to developing countries around the world.

The Blue Wrap Project Runway is PWH’s annual fundraising gala and showcases outfits created by designers from Blue Wrap, a polypropylene material used in all U.S. hospitals to sterilize equipment.

Blue Wrap, unless put to work at this fashion show, leads a short life. Use it once, then discard.

PWH hopes to raise $ 250,000 on Project Runway this year. It will take place on Thursday, May 19, at the Merrill Auditorium with entertainment that includes opera singers, a Broadway veteran, and Burundi drummers.
