Week 5 at USFL season began with a fun matchup Friday, as the Tampa Bay Bandits preceded by Michigan Panthers.
The Bandits improved to 3-2 on the season, while the Panthers fell to 1-4.

The panthers came first
The Panthers pulled off a wild, double-pass touchdown as QB Shea Patterson passed to WR Joe Walker, who hit TE Ryan O’Malley for a 30-yard score to put the Panthers on board early.

Washington redeemed itself with a quick score late in the frame to give the Bandits a 13-10 lead.

The Panthers ’defense was relentless in the final minutes of the first half, knocking out Ta’amu.
The Panthers had one last possession to get a few points before the half, and they did that.
Patterson found receiver Lance Lenoir for the much-needed 41-yard gain, followed by another Michigan aim at the field to tie things at 13 to break.
The bandits kept coming back
Tampa Bay was the first to strike in the second half, as Ta’amu launched a 43-yard TD bomb to WR John Franklin, giving the Bandits a 20-13 advantage.

Disaster struck Michigan
The Panthers struggled with the following possession, as Patterson was taken while trying to make a game in the red zone. It remained a seven -point game into the fourth quarter.
The Panthers ’luck returned in the middle of the fourth quarter, thanks to this shocking connection from Patterson and tight end La’Michael Pettway. As such, it’s a tie game once again.

The Bandits found the end zone and led 27-20 on the next drive, courtesy of this smooth 30-yard TD from Washington.

The Panthers ran for it in their next possession, but it was another miscue for Michigan. After throwing a throw from Patterson, Scarlett fumbled the ball in midfield, and Tampa Bay recovered it.
