Sullivan Absher, a four -star prospect and the No. 275 total players in the Class of 2023, will announce his college commitment live on Friday at 4 pm ET at CBS Sports HQ. He reduced his finalists to Notre Dame, NC State and Clemson with 247Sports Crystal Ball giving Fighting Irish and first -year coach Marcus Freeman the best chance of getting his services. You can watch the announcement live on video at the top of this pageon the CBS Sports App or through your connected device (Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV).

Absher, a 6-foot-7, 290-pounder from South Point High School in Belmont, North Carolina, is the 10th-ranked player in the state and is ranked No. 247Sports Composite rankings. Brian Dohn, national recruiting analyst for 247Sports, gave this scouting report to Absher.

“Proven size with added length,” Dohn writes. “Well-proportioned frame with room for improvement. Multi-sport profile includes basketball. Lines tackle for South Point and physical, destructive run blocker. Athleticism shines when in space. Burns instantly. , up and into the defensive player.with strong feet and balance.Has a strong base and once joined is able to push the defensive player back to the point of attack.Scrapes and quick to reach second level. Plays with strong, heavy hands and always finishes blocks. Very good down blocker. The lateral movement is very good and allows for wide splits. “

Absher played a heavy offense, which prevented him from showing his skill on pass protections. As such, Dohn thinks he can manage pass protection when he gets to the next level.

“Lack of pass pro experience because South Point rarely passes but athleticism and height should help advance at the college level,” Dohn wrote. “The team has passed 52 passes (16 completed) in 15 games so there isn’t much opportunity for in-game experience. They have to work on sitting at the base and using the kick step during in-game situations. .sets.Sometimes, turn to waste on run blocking so you need to be more consistent in sinking hips.Multi-year starter at Power 5 level with Top 20 program.NFL late round draft pick potential with ability to climb to taller. “

Absher also shines on the basketball court and baseball field. He has made unofficial visits to Notre Dame and NC State over the past three months.
